DigiKam is an advanced photo manager application for Linux, Windows, and Mac-OSX. Its attractive design and features allow the users to view, manage, edit, import, enhance, organize and share photographs under Linux systems. It provide interface to connect camera for download or delete your images. Installation of Digikam on Ubuntu 16.04 is explained in this article.

Installation of DigiKam

Add the required repository before starting installation process.

root@linuxhelp1:~# add-apt-repository ppa:philip5/extra
 Ubuntu experimental rolling release repository.

Mainly assorted media apps and other programs that I use myself or by requests. 
 More info: https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+archive/ubuntu/extra

Enter the name Digikam in the search tab and click digikam icon to open the digikam as given below.

In the below given welcome page check and change the settings by clicking Next button. Finally click Finish button to start the digikam.

After installed successfully, click on help option to know about the Digikam version.
