To install Lollypop On Ubuntu 16.04

Lollypop is an open-source, audio player developed in GTK+3, created as a Rhythmbox alternative. Among others, it has support the playback of the most popular audio formats, including mp3, mp4, ogg and flac, allows the users to visualize the songs via album, artist or genre, can play the files in order or shuffle (random).

To install Lollypop

Initiate the installation of Lollypop by adding the repository. Use the following command for the same process.

root@linuxhelp1:~# add-apt-repository ppa:gnumdk/lollypop

Lollypop is now installed. To open it click on the search bar and type lollypop. Click on the icon of the lollypop to open it.

Now you can view the lollypop.


If you want to remove the Lollypop package from your rmachine, run the following command.

root@linuxhelp1:~# apt-get remove lollypop -y

What is the Ubuntu version you are using? this repository should work in ubuntu 16.04. if you are using any other ubuntu version means try adding the appropriate repository for your distribution. if the lollypop package was unable to locate means it's might be the repository issue

When I try to install lollypop (after i added the ppa and updates the sources..) the terminal eturns this: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package lollypop ..what do i do now?
