How to use Issue Tracking on Odoo

For over a week, we have been posting several tutorials regarding Odoo and various other aspects of it. Today, in this tutorial you will be briefed about Issue Tracker, an app available on Odoo, and the procedure to use it. This application allows you to manage the issues faced in the ongoing projects that you might face like bugs in the system, client complaints or system breakdowns. It allows the manager to quickly check the issues, assign them and evolve the status of the issues. Along with this, Odoo contains several other apps to make the management software more easy and reliable to use.

Issue Tracking - Odoo

This module is used for creating issue on the project existing in each department. First install the issue tracking application from the application list and if it is installed, then select the project tab from the menu header.

Then go to your created project on which you want to create issue.

Go to issue tab and click create issue to create a new issue for the selected project.

Provide the details of the issue such as name of the project, assignee and priority and save it.

After the creation of the issue you can view your issue under the project and listed in kanban view. And you can also change the issues from one set to another.

How to configure issue, status, and workflow for my bug tracker?

Each issue has a status, which indicates the development stage of the issue. The following are the default status:
Open - All issues which are posted newly will be assigned to the Open status by default.
In progress - All the issues that are under progress.
To be tested - All the issues that are to be tested.
Closed - All the issues that are resolved and tested.
Reopen - All the issues that are reopened from the closed status. The issues that are in the reopen status can be moved to the In progress or Resolved or Closed status.
