Single User mode is a process by which a multi user OS boots and converts into a single mode feature. Single User mode is otherwise known as maintenance mode. It provides minimal functionality and is used in mainly during booting. In administrative point of view it is useful during the repair of corrupted files. It is mainly used for maintenance of multi-user environments such as network servers.
