How to install CherryTree Text Editor in Debian 8.3
The Cherrytree is a hierarchical text editor note taking application that contains rich text, syntax higlighting, image handling, hyperlinks, import/export option and also support for multiple languages. This tutorial covers the installation procedure of cherrytree in Debian.
Installation procedure
To start with the installation procedure, use the nano command to open the sources.list configuration file.
root@linuxhelp:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list
The sources.list file is opened. Now add these lines at end of the file. Save and exit from the file.
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main
Next exeucte the command to update the apt sources-list.
root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update

Once the package has been installed, type the cherrytree package name in the dashboard and run the application. The application is now used for various note taking functions.
