How to install Nylas Mail in Ubuntu 17.04

The Nylas N1 is a new open source email client application.It is available for Linux, Mac and Windows.It is compatible with hundreds of email providers, including Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, Microsoft Exchange,etc. This tutorial covers the installation procedure of Nylas mail in Ubuntu 17.04.

Installation procedure

To start the installation procedure, download the dependency package using the following link https://edgehill.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/2.0.32-fec7941/linux-deb/x64/NylasMail.deb. After downloading the package, list the files in the terminal and install the package.

To install the Nylas mail package, execute the following command and run it.

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# dpkg -i NylasMail.deb

During installation some dependency errors may occur. To remove this dependency errors, execute the following command. This command will solve the dependency problem and install the nylas-mail

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# apt-get -f install

Setting up gconf2 (3.2.6-3ubuntu7) ...
Setting up nylas-mail (2.0.32) ...

To open the nylas-mail, run the following command. The application is started and click Get Started to continue into application.

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# nylas-mail

The user needs to create a new Nylas ID with the username and password credentials.

Connect an email account of the user' s choice from a list of mail accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, etc.

Login to the specified email account with the user' s credentials.

Next, allow the Nylas to access the specified account.

The Nylas mail is ready to use.

Now configure the Nylas mail by selecting the reading pane display and update notifications.

After settings the configurations, Sync the specified mailbox.

To compose a new message, click on the icon on the left side corner and now the user can create a new message or mail for any contacts in the specifies mail account.

Wasn' t that an easy installation procedure? Nylas mail supports features like multiple account support, spell checking, fast search, themes, etc.
