Installing Vidcutter on Ubuntu

Before you begin with the installation of Vidcutter on your Ubuntu machine, make sure you add the necessary repositories as follows.

root@linuxhelp1:~# add-apt-repository ppa:ozmartian/apps
[ Official VidCutter repository for Ubuntu and derivatives ]
TRUSTY USERS NOTE:
I' ve had to remove the trusty build of the latest VidCutter release as the way I went about getting needed dependencies includd (missing from Ubuntu repos) had the potential to cause major problems with your system' s multimedia stack.
trusty packages are no longer being built until a sensible workaround is found BUT you can still use VidCutter via the AppImage portable release. The AppImage was built on a bare bones Trusty machine and tested to ensure all is working.
Direct link to AppImage (for trusty users only):
https://github.com/ozmartian/vidcutter/releases/download/3.5.0/VidCutter-3.5.0-linux-x64.AppImage
So in short, trusty people now directed to use AppImage release until trusty builds return to this PPA (which may not ever happen if effort outweighs result, since AppImage is a more than sufficient alternative for you guys...
