To install Flash Player on Ubuntu 16.04

Adobe flash player is an open source tool used for playing multimedia files. It is a collection of GUI, data manipulation and network components. This tutorial covers the installation procedure of Flash Player on Ubuntu 16.04.


Installation procedure

To proceed with the installation procedure, check whether the flash player is installed in the target system by entering the URL as isflashinstalled.com. If it' s not installed, the browser will be displayed as shown below.


You can also check for the application by entering in the browser and go to setting--> add ons --> plugin. The Flash player will not be seen in the list of plugins.

Both of the above mentioned methods shows that flash is not installed.


To start installing the application, go to the terminal and update the target machine by executing the apt-get update command.

The target machine is updated with the repositories. Next install the Flash Player by running the following command and press y to continue with the installation.

The Flash Player is installed in the target system. Enter the URL as isflashinstalled.com, If it shows YES, then the application is installed in the system.

Both the above mentioned method shows that Flash is installed in the target system.
