How to install Krita on Debian 9

Krita is a free and open source digital painting tool designed for concept artists, illustrators, matte and texture artists, and the VFX industry. It is built based on Qt 5 and KDE frameworks and is one of the widely used rastor graphics editor. In this tutorial you will learn about the installation process involved with Krita on Debian 9.

Installation procedure

To begin with the installation procedure, create a file named sources.list using nano editor. Add the following repository to the system. Save and exit the changes. 

root@debian:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free

The repository is added to the system. Now update the apt sources.list file by running the update command.
