To Install LSwitcher on Ubuntu 16.04

LauncherSwitcher, also called as LSwitcher, is an open-source application which allows its users to pin the the apps from the Unity Launcher, depending on the current workspace. LSwitcher offers two ptions, one to enable/disable saving the Unity Launcher and another feature is adding apps to the startup list. This article sheds light on the installation of LSwitcher on Ubuntu.

Installing LSwitcher

To use LSwitch, enable the multiple workspaces by choosing System Settings > Appearance > Behavior > Enable workspaces.

Initiate the LSwitch installation by adding its repository through ppa. 

user1@linuxhelpubnt:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vlijm/lswitcher

 Unity LauncherSwitcher creates the possibility to have a specific set of Unity Launcher icons on each of the workspaces

Once the repositories are added, use the following command to update the apt sources-list.

After updating the apt sources-list, use the following command to install the package.

LSwitch is now installed. Open the Ubuntu dash and type the package on the search bar to access LSwitch.
