To install NetAnim on Debian 8.3
NetAnim is an offline animator built based on the Qt toolkit. It animates the simulation via XML trace file which is collected during simulation. Installing NetAmin is as simple as it sounds, and this article explains the method to install NetAnim on Debian 8.3
Installing NetAnim
Before installing NetAnim, make sure you add its repository to your machine. Use the following command to open the apt sources.list.
root@linuxhelp:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Now add the following lines at end of the file.
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main
Once it is added, save and exit the file.
After that, use to following command to update the apt sources-list.
root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update

Now is the time to install the NetAnim package. Use the following command for the same purpose.

NetAnim is now installed, use your activities search bar to find and launch the application.
