To Install Mixxx on Ubuntu 16.04

Mixxx is a free open source applications used by the DJs to mix music. It supports reading songs and playlists, via iTunes. Also, it supports several audio formats such as MP3, M4A/AAC, OGG, and FLAC audio. Some of its notable features are djustable EQ shelves, timecode vinyl control, recording, and Shoutcast broadcasting. It is really easy to install Mixxx on Ubuntu and this tutorial covers the ground on the same process.


Installing Mixxx

In order to install Mixxx, make sure you add the needed repository by running the following command.

root@linuxhelp:~# add-apt-repository ppa:mixxx/mixxx -y

Once it is done, you can update the newly added repository using the following command.

You can now install the Mixxx application, all you need to do for that is to run the following command.

root@linuxhelp:~#  apt-get install mixxx -y

Use ' sudo apt autoremove'  to remove them.

Once the software is installed, you shall go to your Ubuntu dashboard and type Mixx on the search field. The icon of the application will be displayed on your screen, click on the icon to open it.
