Parole is a simple media player majorly used for Linux and other UNIX like operating systems. In fact, it is the default media player of Xfce and Xubuntu. Since it uses very few system resources, it is considered to be efficient. Parole plays local media files, such as WAV, MP3 and MPEG, as well as CDs and DVDs.


Installing Parole Media Player

Before installing Parole, make sure you add the necessary dependency package via ppa.

root@linuxhelp:~#  add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps
 Apps that are not available in Ubuntu universe repositories or the Ubuntu repositories only provide an old version

Now is the time to install Parole.

Once we are through with the installation, go to Ubuntu dashboard search bar and type parole. It will display the application, click the icon to open it.
